Increasingly, students learn about the past and present from social media. This assessment asks students to evaluate the accuracy of an Instagram post that claims that during the Depression, women repurposed flour sacks for clothing. Use this task as an exit ticket or "do now" to start the class in order to quickly gauge student thinking about historical claims on social media.
